Chad Staddon welcomed as the new Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Journal of the Bulgarian Geographical Society

Chad Staddon has accepted appointment as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Bulgarian Geographical Society (JBGS), building on his previous role as subject editor. Chad is Professor of Resource Economics and Policy at the University of the West of England and Director of the International Water Security Network.
Chad’s PhD thesis, completed in 1996, examined water-society inter relationships in Bulgaria from a political ecological perspective. Since that time he has conducted research in more than a dozen countries and helped found the global “Household Water Insecurity Experiences” (HWISE) initiative which created the world’s first comparative household water insecurity indicator set that is cross culturally comparable. In addition to academic research Chad frequently serves as a reviewer and panellist for national funding programmes and as a consultant on water policy to governments around the world.
“I am delighted to be able to step up and help lead the Journal of the Bulgarian Geographical Society. The journal is a key outlet for high quality geographical scholarship on Bulgaria and the Balkans in global context.”
