Gabriela Morosanu-Mitoseriu welcomed as a subject editor at Journal of the Bulgarian Geographical Society

Dr. Gabriela Adina Morosanu-Mitoseriu has recently joined the editorial team of the Journal of the Bulgarian Geographical Society (JBGS). As a researcher at the Institute of Geography of the Romanian Academy and a collaborating teaching assistant at the Faculty of Geography (University of Bucharest), she is interested in exploring the fine sediment sources in river basins and hydro-morphological assessments for river restoration. Dr. Morosanu's expertise includes geospatial analysis, sediment fingerprinting, hydrological modeling, and fine sediment transfer field surveys, which have informed her work on assessing the health of river environments, including those affected by mining operations. Her interdisciplinary approach combines GIS, statistical and laboratory methods to develop innovative frameworks for sustainable land-river management. Additionally, her research has contributed to projects assessing the vulnerability of rivers to climate change and human intervention, with a focus on developing nature-based solutions. Through her active involvement in international research forums and mentoring initiatives, Dr. Morosanu has made significant contributions to supporting young scientists in high profile associations, and fostering collaboration in environmental research.
"I am excited to contribute to the Journal of the Bulgarian Geographical Society, which provides an important platform for advancing geographical and environmental sciences. I look forward to supporting the journal's mission to promote interdisciplinary research and innovation in sustainable environmental management."
